couple of quick comments. First, in self-correction (or addition) the quote I
mentioned yesterday is from Griselda Pollock’s “The long journey: Maternal
trauma, tears and kisses in a work by Chantal Akerman” [in *Studies in the
Maternal* 2 (1) 2010.] That’s searchable also. I just wanted to give proper
credit. Second, in response to a short section of elizaBeth’s post, yes, definitely point taken
with regard to directionality. I think democratically one of the most important
aspects of university/universality is that there is and should be, must be, a
flow in different directions. In the most basic sense, in two directions in the
context of this thread, but obviously it goes beyond that. There is worth in
regard to care, demographics, sociality both in and out of academe. Thanks again
