Hi everyone,
i'm just popping in here to introduce myself... i am an artist, poet, web
designer living in a small, yet culturally cool little town.
i've been reading all of the interesting new ideas being discussed with this
list and am just amazed at what's going on out there in this techno infused
world of ours. 
art for me used to be painting (BFA degree) and collage. however, when i met
up with mac, a scanner, and photoshop in '98 all of that changed me...it was
love and now i haven't painted in 3 years. working with many many layers in
photoshop and having the opportunity to make things transparent to certain
percentages is just incredibly inticing for the collage experience.
as for writing, i have always written... whether keeping diaries, journals,
word lists, or writing poetry. i have filled several small journals while
driving a 90 mile commute to and from work. however, i have changed jobs and
only drive a mile now...it's sucking out the marrow of my soul...not driving
and the job itself.
other interests of mine lie in the avant garde, the creatives who are
rule-breakers, the dadaists, pollock, van gogh, el lissitsky (the topography
of typography) the cubist poets, and music.  i just discovered Danielewsky's
"House of Leaves" and am totally exhilerated over it. anyone out there
familiar with it?
