melinda asked our response about the rhythm of the list and i do very much
like the idea of up and down time, swelling and reducing, if the 'off'
period  could be a time of summarization, quiet digestion, reflection, on
what came before.  could there be a periodic summarization, which would
trace the threads of what has occurred, and offer a regrouping of some kind?
it would also help those of us who were not able to keep up (and how
frustrating it has been to see all of this great material fly by and not be
able to 'catch' it...). perhaps in addition to a monthly guest there could
be a monthly person or group of people in charge of the summaries for that
month, on volunteer basis
