As I see it, it is a live performance space, although use of precomposed
media sequences are also possible. Other applications could be voice /
video / media conferencing, education, showing family pictures / video
to grandma... whatever takes your fancy.
>Allowing artists to contribute remotely to the 'happening'(for want of
a
better term off the top of my head). And how do people feel this
enhances
the performance?
It is a new type of performance space, where potentially any kind of
digital experience is possible... and going beyond precomposed linear
media presentation is good :) personally improvisation is the key, to
be able to (re)direct the art/work dynamically in desired ways...
>Can it be an open forum for anyone who wants to
participate, or is it preferable to know the other artists work before
hand?
It can be open in allowing anyone to enter and interact with the digital
environment, semiopen in allowing limited influence (perhaps only
effecting ones individual experience, not the global stage) or closed,
with only the "performing agents" have directorial control, and (a)
passive stream(s) are webcast to the audience.
I believe Adrian will talk more about the blog/video connection...
