all of us at -empyre- would like to thank Rebecca Cannon for the time she
has spent this year as one of the facilitatiors of -empyre-.. Rebecca is
leaving us as she is overwhelmed with work on her other projects including
Select Parks http://www.selectparks.net/  and moderating the
audiovisionmelbourne list. maybe other empyreans will run into Rebecca at
DAC.

comings::
and congratulations to our other faciliatator Michael Mages on the birth of
his daughter...  and hopefully not too many sleepless nights.

near future comings::

--> June we get back to one of our favourite topics - the 3dimensional
internet  in conjunction with the lab3d show from Manchester curated by
Kathy Rae Huffman  ( artists: John Klima, Squidsoup, Tamiko Thiel and Zara
Houshmand,  Michael Pinsky , Feng Mengbo and  Melinda Rackham ) and
Web2d2003 showing at multiple venues in the Uk, Europe and Australia. a
Reader edited by  Melinda Rackham and Taylor Nuttall will be produced from
the discussion which will happen online during this month (subject to
permissions granted by individual posters of course)

--> July addresses the important  issues of Racial and Cultural
Representation Online hosted by Michael Mages..  with confirmed guests Keith
and Mendi Obadike of http://blacknetart.com/

--> also coming up in August or September (we are very flexible here
at -empyre-) is audio.net, focusing on internet sound  with guests including
Trace Reddell, curator of sound-works for the Denver Museum of Contemporary
Art, with John Hudak, John Kannenberg, Tobias van Veen and Glenn Bach.

Suggested topics for later in the year are Gaming in conjunction with d.lux
media arts' annual d.art conference, and net.Performance.  if you are
interrestd in these topics - or think you'd make a great guest of or have
any other suggestions send in a post ..
