Having just caught up with this month's postings after taking a
holiday break, I want to thank everyone for a stimulating and
wide-ranging discussion of microsound. Readers in the New York/New
England area might be interested in a 2 day art and theory workshop
on "Sound Culture" to be held at Cornell University Ithaca, New York,
Sept. 12-13, sponsored by The Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art
(which I described when I guest moderated empyre in March).
Realizing the we've agreed not to flood empyre with conference
materials, I'd be happy to send the program to any who writes me.
The event is free and open to the public and will be preceded by a
virtual seminar organized by Norie Neumark between sound artists in
Australia and those gathered in Ithaca. We'll be taping this seminar
for future consultation by users of the Archive.
