[-empyre-] Designing Contexts...

I know Melinda and Kathy have already given accounts of the feedback and
issues raised at the panel at ISEA, but in response to my own particular
talk, the main response which set my mind whirring, was that of Joel
Slayton. 

He picked up on my idea that at times the list is really about context and
less about content and asked who is the parasite in this sort of situation,
the art or the list? He asked whether new media is in fact the art of
designing contexts and whether there is anything in such contextual
structures that is meaningful in itself, or if it is all context?

I would love to know how other people would answer these questions?!
