hi everybody,
i'm ruben, this is my first message to this list, actually it's my first
message to a list..

i'm from napoli, italy.. i'm a theoretical phisicist and visual artist,
interested in the
possible contaminations of these two fields, that seem to be so
fundamentally separated.. of course this has lead me to study the
concept of machine -today it takes the form of computer- and i see that
different declinations of this concept appear in math, physics,
engineering, visual arts, music, communication science..

recently i havem read a book about net.art, and i'm curious about that,
that is how i
arrived to this list.. i subscribed this list as alice following the
white rabbit, i don't know exactly why, maybe also looking for ideas,
maybe looking for a new suggestion, maybe attracted by this idea of
net.art that i can try to understand as a concept but i still have not
lived as an experience.. yes, i think i subscribed this list looking for
a door to enter the world of net.art..

it's interesting to observe how technology enhances natural human
capabilities, as is the case of "collaborative thinking", i think..
making scientific academic studies, i have the opinion that what really
makes modern scientific research so dynamic and strong is that it takes
the form of a network of ideas, it is a very big realization of
"collaborative thinking", where the concept of individual originality is
definitively surpassed..
and, in my opinion, what has made 20th century art so often so weak is
exactely the lack of this kind of experience..

the art of making network, i subscribed this list to learn and live
something about this..

kisses,
ruben.
