re [-empyre-] LANGUAGE, STEREOCENA, SPACES, INTERNET
I'm curious about your approach to language and international work, aLe. Do
you intend for the work to be viewable to an international audience? Do you
conceive the work in this way, or is it, instead, an attempt to speak via
image and sound and interface, more than a desire to speak to an
international audience?
Also, you teach theatre and media arts where you live, locally. Do you teach
the sort of work you make in media arts? Are you teaching Flash and Director
and so on? Or what is it you teach concerning media arts?
And what sort of relations does the media arts work you teach and make have
with theatre?
I spoke today with a fellow who does a lot of MAX work in a theatrical
setting, and with dancers (we were comparing MAX and Director, mainly). The
works he makes are typically interactive with the performers or dancers so
that rather than a theatre of narrative plays, for instance, the performers
are interacting with his MAX programming to alter the sound or lights or
both.
