one result for one of those 54 democratic elections held around the world
this month..

the ruling right-wing party has been re-elected with an even bigger majority
in both parliamentary houses in Australia.. meaning they can pass virtually
any legislation they want including selling  the public telecommunications
company, slashing corporate  tax rates and changing the face of industrial
relations. oh and they will continue to participate in  US invasions of
other countries..

it seems  voters were influenced by a scare campaign that suggested a
left-wing government may increase interest rates (therefore their mortgage
repayments) to fund public education and  health benefits.
