Going back to Ryan's thoughts on the role of IT and so on, re. media -based artists, I couldn't agree more that there does appear to be a dominant tendency to avoid or ignore the problematic position that technology driven/referencing work occupies in relation to capital.



there is a small book i've begun reading recently called "Let Them Eat Data"
which emphatically (perhaps dogmatically) questions technology's ecological sustainability and the new-media utopia mindset
(its not entirely to my taste but seemed appropriate to this tangent)


on the other front the tate hosts agoraxchange which has some very politicized content
with some refreshingly concise social-utopic proposals
