Re: [-empyre-] andy gracie (hostprods) introduction

no problem, jim. I'm primarily doing something else.

although the congnitive processes, or at least the assumed cognitive
proceses, of the creatures involved plays an important role in the work it
is the interaction between these and artificial cognition that is key. the
development of the work demands a certain understanding of and empathy with
the 'intelligence' of the living specimens but I veer away from following it
through to the realisation of any kind of scientific understanding. what the
work is driving at is the observation of emergent behaviours that
demonstrate the results of the interchanges between two or more distinct
forms of intelligence. whether this could then be seen as another form of
collective intelligence is left open to debate and deliberately ambiguous.

practising as an artist rather than a scientist I prefer to present
opportunities for the perception or questioning of the presence of
intelligence and cognitive processes than to empirically prove their
existence.

I will happily expand on this subject very soon.

best
