Suggestions Sharing? .... RE: [-empyre-] archiving

Hello folks

Well, my doctoral thesis was just approved.
Its documenting the past ten years of web3D

Luckily, I've been involved web3D for 10 years so I
know were most of the bodies are buried and I'd
planned on a more direct path of just contacting old
friends and players in the field. (maybe call on some
"brand-name" academics types too)

So -  any other suggestions, I suppose I should cruise
the archive sites that currently exist. (But cept for
web3Dart.org, web3D is well, poorly covered). Also
what type of help / support / sharing would be
reasonable to expect from the archival community? 
This is very open ended.
