i don't, but there are some things one can say without a crystal ball.

and since the topic is digital writing, i'll confine my folly to that area.

imagine, if you will, the sub-atomic realms of language.

the realms of quirks and solular intimata.

we know now that language has behavior.

these behaviors will have been analysed down to the level of solular
intimata.

it will be seen, for instance, that a b is not a static thing but is, in
fact, a virtual explosion underneath the surface of appearances.

you see how illustration 1 shows the language in process so that the b, in
the final shot, at highest conceptual resolution, resolves into the first
indication of intimita.

this realization of the intimate nature of language will have propogated
from the micro to the macro levels, so that there will be a notion of the
reality of writing without design at the macro levels of the universe.
writing in the sense that non-conscious processes like computers can both be
governed by and give rise to language that, in turn, like solular inimita,
can generate higher levels of complex organization in things. but also
non-human made things can 'evolve' in this way.

discussion by katherine hayles of macro intimata, ie, reality as virtual

much as

depicts a virtual world of language, vassilakis's further research reveals
the first glimpses of language at the biologic level:

in short, just as the seventeenth to twentieth centuries were dominated by
the development of physics, the twenty-first and perhaps somewhat beyond
will be dominated in mathematics, philosophy, and other areas by the
development of our understanding of the micro and macro significance of
language and code in the generation and maintenance of the ten thousand
things. this explosion of understanding of the mechanics of language in
process basically commenced with the work of godel and turing in the
thirties and forties, and is unabated at the moment.

may we come to a better understanding of and realization of 'peace' and
'harmony', among other things.
