Re: [-empyre-] Introductions and beginnings (October on -empyre-)

Hello all,

I'm using my webmail, so my apologies for sloppy formatting and being
brief. (at least I'm not on the coin operated surf station this time, but
still not ideal)

Good segue Renee!
To go back to something that has been in the foreground during this (and
many other) discussion as well as in the thinking behind the Under Fire
exhibition can be explained by the following excerpt from Bruno Latour's
"Matters of Fact, Matters of Concern" (
http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/CI/journal/issues/v30n2/300201/300201.html
)<quote>

Is there another online version of this text because, I would really like
to read the full essay. subscribers only :-(

Bringing in the word "concern" is exactly what is needed in combination
with "critical mass" (meaning, it assuages my initial unease with that
phrasing alone) so thanks for introducing the Latour ....

Yes indeed! And thanks for referencing these other practices. I went to
the Museum of Jurassic Technology almost 15 years ago and it is an
amazingly 'long term' project. I would love to go back one day and see
what new things have been invented or added to the collection.

all the best,

Renee
