[Cara Walz]

Hello all, thanks for including me, and let me begin by saying thanks 
for not necessarily being an academic or discipline-based list. I've 
had quite enough of that for one lifetime!

I am a visual artist with a head full of thoughts, a picture builder, 
and I have a weakness for poetry and challenging prose. My interests 
change, conjoin and split in different directions, but there are a few 
that prevail: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, The Ecstasy of 
Communication by Jean Baudrillard, Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, 
and The Accursed Share by Georges Bataille.

I enjoy ruminating over these texts and their relevance to media 
arts--studio work and digital communication, in particular--and I am 
interested in meeting anyone else who is of a similar bent. I don't 
have any critical/analytical knowledge to share, just a passion for 
these works and an appreciation for their enrichment of an already 
quite substantial (maybe too substantial) inner life.
