one of the best womens work festivals in europe, where politics and art thrive. they run out of metelkova which is indeed a precious zone. i worked there 2 years back and it was beginning to change, they knew they didn't have much time. thanks now to the ny times and cheap flights into ljubljana from uk, the cheap local beer and the christian right government with it's sunday closing ethic, it is being rebranded. perhaps now it is practically a tourist destination it is no longer an autonomous zone? metelkova may yet become a play park for tourists but do see what those gals have been up to. it is truly inspiring :)
