[-empyre-] to brazil with love

Hi!
Yea, sorry I was not being so clear....I meant the way that queerness/art/politics sometimes feels very contrived and unfree in the US. Mostly within larger institutional settings but obviously they both feed one another and/or are influenced even within collective settings too...
But, yes art gods bore me too! However, La Llorona doesn't bore me! I am still scared. Maybe I should explain....S, do you know who La Llorona is?
But, yes Eduardo....I agree in some ways. Maybe I can explain in regards to Safety. I think part of the reason it infiltrates the supposed radical folks too is because of this idea of safe spaces etc. Everyone is terrified right now of the state as in nation state...people being busted for all sorts of ridiculous things thru Homeland Security and Home Grown Terrorism that yes, it's not a matter of being bored at all because people feel very stuck.
So not sure if anyone else wants to chime in on this that lives in the states or just feels that it largely has to do with "safety" issues too but I see this a lot within groups of folks that I do "work" with both in the sense of political and art and street based and etc etc.
By the way are people familiar with Paula Gunn Allen? Her funeral is tomorrow in California I think but she was a really amazing queer Native mujer that did work around feminism, colonized sexuality within specific tribes in the US....check her out:
