Gabriel,

"However, as the function of an object becomes more dependent of the
pervasive environment, and is therefore regulated by what you call “the
heart of the IT architecture of the system, its standards and protocols”,
how is it possible for the user to negotiate the function of an object if
he have no access to the environment?"

This is the key question in the building of the Internet of Things.

For if you think you need to negociate with GPS/Wifi/RFID/Bluetooth/Smart
camera's, then just think this:

"Furthermore, home area network applications will not be about limiting
and relating objects to specific homes, but rather need to be capable and
open to much more complex relationships. For example, if a guest is
charging their electric car at a friends house, we should consider
applications that will understand that the charge should appear on the
guests electric bill and not that of the the friend."

"Doesn’t that intensify the functionality of everything, casting out
random innovation? And what is the destiny of the objects that does not
‘ressonate’ with the architecture?"

They go to jail.

Therefore as 'users' we need now to argue not function, but
infrastructure, protocol, spectrum and grid,

Greetings, Rob
