Indeed this is so, and we, the curators, are painfully aware that the catalogue does not document the exhibition nor the rest of the related programme satisfyingly. However, we did not intend to speak about single artworks here, but to rather discuss the concept that defines the exhibition, which we do. But Johannes Birringer's question brings up another question that I just want to mention: about the documentation and archiving of such ephemeral, performative and therefore often experience-based works - an old question but nonetheless an unsolved one...and why those organisations and institutions like MediaArtNet or the Ludwig-Boltzmann-Institute which did great work in this field cannot survive - and what could replace them or could continue their work.
