Ana,

It's amazing that Angela Davis frames your memory of Agnes Varda. I was active in the Vietnam resistance movement in the San Francisco Bay Area at the time of Angela's arrest. One of my most vivid memories was the shock across the activist communities over her arrest. One of my friends happened to live across the street was the county jail where she was said to be held while in transport. I'll never forget the night where we sat on that porch serenading Angela with songs of protest and struggles, as if she could hear us. It is this same spirit that Agnes Varda lent to the memory of the Panthers whose contributions to the communities of the Bay Area were legendary.
