I am mostly concerned with how artists are thinking beyond the visual and considering the senses, affect, camouflage, and embodiment through technology/new media as a means of resistance against power and control from major tech corporations and even the government.

Dear Constanza, Lynn, and Rachel,
I have been in Troy, NY the latter part of this week but I am going to catch up now in responding to all of your thoughtful posts this week. I am hoping that you will all be able to make a couple of other posts before our week is out on Monday afternoon.
Constanza_ You post comes at a prescient time for me as I am doing research for my upcoming studio/seminar this fall on these very issues. My interests certainly stem from my own interests and work as an artist. You mention Jill Magid who I agree is such a fine example of this kind of work akin to Quintanilla, Hammer, Schneeman, and Varda. Here is a link to her work. She is a graduate of Cornell so I am always so happy to push her work!

As I think of a brainstormed list of younger artists who may be kindred I think of
Michele Magema, Chitra Ganesh, A.K. Burns, Janine Antoni, and Micha Cardneas. I am wondering if you would help me out here to send other examples of your favorite artists who may work through technology and the body in a like manner.
More to Lynne and Rachel next post.
Renate
