Dear all sorry of I spam you but my message sent yesterday seems not being
distributed to the list. Jennifer was so kind to look at the archives I did
it myself but either Jennifer or myself didn’t find it.
Since it’s a short week and I wanted so many as possible to participate in
the discussions I wanted to be able to post more than one message!
Cheers
Ana

Continuing with my examples of how technology cam be used for the good I
remember how the Zapatistas and his leader Comandante Zero used the digital
space to crate a really liberated zone, a zone as the ones described by
Hakim Bey in his essay about autonomous zones far from the central axis of
power.
The Zapatistas and the people living in Gaza Strip and the West Bank,
places I visited several times with my colleague the Swedish visual artist
Cecilia Parsberg, were able to establish networks with allies living
outside the zones providing them with bandwidth and fast routers.

The virtual room allowed people to exercise and perform their freedom and
became a powerful loudspeaker.

The Comandante Zero shared with the V hero from Vendetta his anonymity.
Behind the mask the leadership could be exercised in a collective way and
the cult to the leader be bypassed.

For many years ago the Swedish and the Finish governments worked together
to create anonymizers, tools which could be used by dissidents to fight
government censorship.

The tool used mostly to navigate the Dark Web, Tor, was the result of many
researchers and techs thinking about how to facilitate to whistle blowers
to denounce crimes and cover ups.

Edward Snowden’s job had been impossible without Tor.
