Thanks Aviva and to all of you who shared your work this past month. I will be introducing our May topic a bit later this morning. Looking forward.

Also, I've launched www.scienceartnetzero.com to initiate transdisciplinary projects on climate change with the State Dept. We have had our first meeting and sent the first ten proposals in for shovel-ready projects. If my work sounds of interest, I would be honored to be a guest at the end of the month on flow. Impulse and affect.

It's been wonderful see the range of everyone's work from April. I know I'm several days past the deadline to share recent and work-in-progress but I attach the midpoint report of my work with Arts Cabinet on Fire which may be of interes. My excuse for being so late on this submission is that I'm completing final edits on my work memoir, "Divining Chaos," to be published by New Village Press next summer. This is the link to the talk I will be giving about my work, "Art as Strategy," May 23: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/art-activism-episode-no-6-art-as-strategy-with-aviva-rahmani-tickets-153926068013.

----------empyre- soft-skinned space----------------------
Our May discussion on –empyre- soft-skinned space will be begin on May 10th: Flow, Impulse and Affect in Real Time. We are thrilled that Patrick Lichty will be joining Renate to moderate the month.
If you would like to be featured during the weeks of May 10th or May 17th please send a back-channel message to Renate. We invite new media artists and theorists, musicians, choreographers, coders and others to think about how might we understand the artistic or critical payoff from the impulse of media culture.
What does it mean to be in the moment when the body encounters the impulse. This can be likened to “flow”, or the quality of being “in the zone” of 2021’s media culture. If the rapidity of images, in the flowing, impulsive space is in the contemporary now of media culture, can it then allow for reverberation, reflection, recitation?
Looking forward to Monday.
