Tim:
i'm not sure what the thinning the herd comments meant (nietzsche
back from the grave or..?), but i would hope that you can do
whatever you want to do!
i can not.
i don't want to feel pressured into learning the latest program or
having the next killer app.
you are not.
you don't have to learn flash, or C++, or any of the latest programs
to be making interesting, digital art,
of course one has to _want to use those things. one does make
choices. i just say that if one uses them it is not a bad idea to....
use them AND think about the choice to use them AND think about them
(abstractly, poeticlly, materially, ob/sub/jectively) as well.
in fact you don't have to demand anything from macromedia..
i do if i use their tools and want to see them be made better. or if
i want to see them die (bangbang)
.there are other possibilities like you said.
always
the prozac-as-network analogy was just to suggest that there are
other ways to hard-wire immersive, baroque environments. the band
Fischerspooner have some ideas on this as well! you can "be the
network" and be offline. like le tigre says, "get off the internet!"
ahhhhh so you want to SHOOT THE MESSENGER too.
reach new people through your network or don't. be sovereign media
in other ways. the internet is a paper tiger.
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
offline for a bit_
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
bye for now.... you'll be back....

Auriea.
