With this close of this month's discussion of 'Wired Sustainability,"
we would like to thank all of our guests for their many
contributions: Britta Riley, Rebecca Bray, Patricia R. Zimmermann,
Thomas Shevory, Stephanie Rothenberg , Dale Hudson,
>Sharon Lin Tay, Ulises A. Mejias, Amanda McDonald Crowley, and
>Jeanette Ingberman.

We are left with lots to ponder in relation to the questions with
which we opened the month: How do wired art practices, environments,
and interventions contribute to
the discourse on sustainability? What are the intersections
between environmental, social, economic, aesthetic, and media based
strategies in dealing responsibly with our environmental resources,
particularly in view of intersections between the real world and virtual
space? Through social collaboration and portable communication
tactics, how might
the interdisciplinary territory between art, science, and technology
incorporates installation, performance, net-art, data-mapping,
electronics? Finally, how do we understand and practice the
complex interactions that occur between the technological, social and
natural systems that we inhabit?

We hope that many of these issues will resurface in other contexts in
the months to come on -empyre-.

Tomorrow -empyre- will announce a shift of its monthly focus to Latin
America and questions of different geographies of political-artistic
practices.

Thanks for a stimulating month.

Best,

Renate and Tim
