[-empyre-] digital cameras or surveilling data?

Hi Timothy,
Absolutely. As I alluded to in the second paragraph, the overall discussion is much larger than only the camera, but one of data its self. The reflections with regard to the camera allow us to reflect on this with regard to a concrete example of expanding time based media and its implications.
If one was to analyze the overall structural framework of data and its cultural implications today, the digital camera sits as part of a greater group of apparatuses including the mobile phone, computers, servers, and other data/informational sources.
Best,
Malcolm

I'm thinking of the Wikileaks revelations and this weak's furor over the USA's scanning of the mobile phones of foreign leaders, etc. It seems that the camera per se might be taking somewhat of a back seat to data, even though we acknowledge the growing avalanche of mobile cameras everywhere.
