[-empyre-] Is green gaming an oxymoron?

And last but not least, I always thought about green gaming as a theme for
game design as an easy way out to deal with ecology in gaming by designing
games on the very medium they should be critical of. On a second thought,
it may turn out a good strategy to bring more social awareness as Lauren
stated in her post. Video games are a hugely popular medium and maybe it is
time to use their voice more clearly or to engage in conversations of a
better world-building via critical design (in the vein of critical theory).
How about "teaching" players about the digital tech challenges by
re-playing them in simulated scenarios? If good games of this sort already
exist, what would you recommend to start with?
Again, many thanks for having the opportunity to exchange in such a lively
and stimulating discourse space.
