Re: [-empyre-] matter and meaning

i disagree. i've just been touring with a performer (not a net.artist) who
gave a discussion after her performance every night, which was like another
performance in itself with the audience involved. it created a space for
the audience to stay together in after what was quite a powerful
performance, to reflect on it & ask questions or say things.

the summary, intro, description, packaging, etc is all part of the work.
some artists choose to have whatever additional dialogue as part of their
work and some don't, it doesn't make them better or less.

with my own cyebrformance work, i find it is necessary to talk about it
because otherwise people who haven't seen it don't know what it is. and we
are creating new audiences, we are all learning about new mediums and
developing the languages and genres of net.art, which is kind of hard to do
without talking about it.
