On Asta Gröting, *Touch 2017*:

Versuchsanordnung

What Asta does makes me wistful. She renders - and does not overcome - a
shortage of skin-to-skin synergy. Like a bell that never rang, her parable
stays far from the everyday. Isolated in a dark studio this emblematic
experiment could be a dry run for intended body contact. The film is like
an exercise whose purpose you only gather after you have done it. (Refrain
from touching your pocket computer, every second time you think of it).

Watching the person reaching for the clay over and over again is of similar
nature. You feel a strong urge to skip ahead and see what you have known
for long;
with kind hand life is sculpting melancholy into human faces.
